dtcode.md

I used vanilla JS to create this website. It has a custom handler for all keyboard events, meaning that I had to implement an input buffer and functions for handling text inputs like an authentic terminal would. I had lots of fun writing reusable code and CSS for this project.
I also used GitHub Pages and Cloudflare to deploy the website publicly at dtcode.club.

bin.md

The Bin was a program created by the Hack Club organization to allow high schoolers to get started with the basics of electronics, using sensors, motors, and a microcontroller (Raspberry Pi Pico W). This microcontroller has Bluetooth and WiFi connectivity and allows users to create IoT-based projects.
I used Figma to design the site and Airtable to fetch real-time information about parts that were available to users. No CSS and JS frameworks were used in the creation of the site.

locale.md

Locale is a platform that a friend and I created together in 48 hours for a hackathon (Hackify 2024). We used technologies like Google Firebase to store images, location and description information and Mapbox to present that data on the client side. I also implemented a user email verification system to reduce the amount of spam in our platform (which was negligible, given that this was a hackathon project for a pretty small hackathon). The backend was created with Flask.

My teammate and I ended up winning the first place prize in this hackathon!

recycl.md

Recycl.ai is a web-based recycling material sorter built for VSHacks 2023. It uses a custom-trained YOLOv8 model to identify different types of recycling, like flexible plastics, returnable containers, etc. I built the front and backend, and my teammate trained and curated the model. We won the second place prize in this hackathon!

termchat.md

TermChat is an end-to-end encrypted chat application that uses 2048 bit RSA encryption to encrypt all user messages. The server does not receive any plaintext messages and has no mechanism for logging messages. The user interface is styled after a traditional terminal, and has displays for server "ping" and local device time.

sdrc_v1.md

The self-driving RC car, or as I've deemed it, SDRC, was a self-driving car made using a Raspberry Pi 4 running OpenCV, taking image data from the Logitech C920 on the roof of the vehicle. However, the image processing was very slow and not tuned very well, so this branch of the project was not continued.

bloxbuilder.md

BloxBuilder is a game that I made in Unity in a single weekend. Users can create their own creations out of parts based on Mega Bloks. I used Blender to create 3D models of all the parts used in the game. The vehicle is physically simulated and the center of gravity changes based on the positioning of different parts.
There is also a system that allows users to import and export their builds in JSON format. Try it out on Itch.io!

typecome.md

TypeCome is a platform where users can do type races and earn a portion of the money earned from running ads. I built the theme customization system using JavaScript and CSS.

dailyquotes.md

This was just an experiment where I was learning about how to use Flask and the nginx template system. The Flask backend sends a network request to a quotes API to fetch a new one and render it on the client side.

ctfbot.md

CTFBot is a Discord bot that utilizes CTFTime to fetch information about future hacking events. Built with Python.
